| SEEING JP COOPER IN SOUTHAMPTON, BRUSSELS & PARIS
JP Cooper is one of, if not my favourite music artist ever. There’s something about his music that really speaks to my soul and makes my heart sing – I can’t explain why, but the feeling is indescribable. I’ve been listening to his music for about 3/4 years, but I first saw him in Southampton in May 2022 where I fell in love with his music on a whole different level, which then led me booking to see him in Brussels and Paris later on in the year.
| FINALLY GETTING MY TEETH DONE
Out of all of my insecurities, my biggest one was my teeth. Ever since I was 8 I wanted to get Porcelain veneers, because I had issues with my teeth and I always liked the fake/white look, however after many, many years and various different dentists (all whom said not to get porcelain veneers) I finally got my old composites removed and a nice set of composite veneers done. I’m so happy with the result, and 2023, will see my figuring out what to do with my bottom teeth – probably just Invisalign and whitening though!
| TRAVELLING AGAIN
Up until mid 2022, I hadn’t left the country since June 2019 due to Covid and travel restrictions. In 2022, I finally went on holiday again to Mykonos for a lovely Summer holiday and I also indulged in a couple city breaks to Southampton, Brussels and Paris. Every trip I went on in 2022, reminded me just how much I love to travel and how I need to make a point of doing it more, going forward. Especially as I’m young with no children or any responsibilities outside of myself, I really have no excuse!
| GETTING BACK INTO THE GYM – WITH HELP OF A PT
After about 4 years of not going to the gym and working out, in August I finally decided it was time to try and make a change. I really hate going to the gym by myself, especially not knowing what to do or if my form was correct, so I decided to get myself a personal trainer. This means that I always have someone to go to the gym with, but also to tell me what to do. It sounds silly, but even little things such as counting my reps is a big help for me and well as someone who can tell me what to do and talk to about stress and eating habits.
| SAW NDBUZ LIVE AT THE O2
Ah, the nostalgia! My 13 year old self was so happy to see NDubz perform live! Although the production wasn’t the best, it was such a vibe, especially seeing such a distinct crowd of tens of thousands of people, all whom were all around the same age so it would’ve been just as iconic for them as me – it’s a generational thing!
| STARTED TO ENJOY LIFE AGAIN
For the past few years (pretty much since 2016) I’ve felt like I’ve had a constant cloud over me. Funnily enough, covid and lockdown didn’t affect me negatively (except for the fact that I still can’t smell properly) as it took me out of a negative environment that I was in for a long period of time. I’m not the most sociable person, I don’t care to go out clubbing and I don’t drink (most of which British society deems as the only way to have fun), but nonetheless I really started to enjoy my life again, by travelling and taking time out from work in an attempt to establish a healthy work/life balance – I failed at this, but we go again in 2023!
