I have always been an avid fan of luxury items and over the past few years, the amount of designer/luxury pieces that I have acquired has considerably grown. However, despite already owning a fair few lovely pieces, there is always something else I’ve got my eye on – I should probably learn from this, but lone behold, I don’t. I do like purchasing luxury items as I see it as a testament of my hard work, particularly if I purchase something for milestone, for example, when I graduated, I bought myself a new bag and when I worked countless long hours over summer and got a promotion, I also treated myself. Seeing as Christmas is around the corner, I thought it would be a good idea to share some of the luxury items that I’ve been eyeing up, on the off chance that you want to treat a loved one to something, lucky them!
READY TO WEAR
Believe it or not, I actually don’t own any designer ready to wear pieces. I do have branded items of clothing, such as Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger etc. but no luxury designer items, this is probably because I don’t really exert much interest in ready to wear, I much rather invest in handbags and accessories as they have more chance in resale. That being said, there are a handful of things that I have taken a liking to. The first being the classic Balmain Blazer. I love a good blazer and I’m currently on the hunt for a well-fitted, tailored blazer and I’m taking inspiration from the likes of Balmain, but I can’t seem to find anything similar on the high street. This blazer is extremely versatile, but one of the pieces that could be in your wardrobe for a month, a year or even ten years and will never feel outdated.
For the longest time, I’ve wanted the Canada Goose Parka Jacket. It looks like the ultimate parka jacket and in the past when I’ve had parkas I’ve gotten so much wear out of them, to the point where it shocked me. I actually planned on buying this parka this year, however sod’s law as the exact one I want is sold out on the Canada Goose website, in every colour and every size! Maybe it’s a sign – I don’t know, but I’m just going to wait and try and purchase one whenever it’s back in stock!
HANDBAGS
I am such a handbag fiend. I love collecting designer handbags and there’s always room in my collection for more (not literally, but in my heart there’s always room for more). The Louis Vuitton Alma BB in the black Epi leather has been on my list for a few months now. It’s a beautiful small handbag but still a decent size and I love how you can wear this bag crossbody or handheld making it a good transitional bag from daytime to evening. Another bag on my wishlist is the Saint Laurent Monogram Shoulder bag. I already have pieces from Saint Laurent and I love their quality. This bag would definitely fill the void of a black crossbody in my collection and again, it’s the perfect bag for both casual and formal occasions. A bag that I’m pretty sure is on a lot of people’s wishlists is the stunning Chanel Classic Double Flap bag. An absolute iconic piece in the fashion world and one that I would love to acquire at some point – when I can justify the cost!
The last couple of bags are also from Louis Vuitton, which is one of my absolute favourite designers, period. One being the Keepall 50 in the monogram canvas, which is a lovely duffle bag. I would love to purchase this (and the next bag) pre-loved as I love how it looks when the leather patina’s and purchasing it second hand not only cuts the cost, but also means I don’t need to get it to the stage that I like. I’ve put off buying the Keepall as I don’t really have anywhere to put it, but also because I don’t have a real need for it at the moment, however when I do more shoot days next year I may be able to justify it. The last and final bag is the Louis Vuitton Noé. This is definitely a bag I could see myself styling in spring/summer, so maybe I’ll treat myself to it next year as well. I think it would look beautiful with a lovely summer dress for a casual look too. If you’ve purchased any pre-loved items, let me know and give me any tips, as it’s a whole other sector that I’ve not delved into yet.
FOOTWEAR
When it comes to shoes, I don’t tend to venture in the luxury department, I’m pretty happy with my Old Skool Vans, however there are still a few that take my fancy. Like Cardi B, “I like those Balenciaga’s, the ones that look like socks”. The Balenciaga Speed Trainers are high up on my wishlist. I’ve been eyeing these up, especially for work. I love how casual they look and they look great with a nice pair of skinny jeans (my Topshop Jamie Jeans, obviously). All I’m saying is, don’t be surprised to see me rocking these anytime soon!
Another pair of trainers on my list is the Alexander McQueen trainers. I think they’re an absolute staple, a slightly more elevated version of the Adidas Stan Smith’s. Again, they’ll look great with a pair of jeans or even some leather joggers. I always get nervous that certain luxury items will run their course, but I feel like the McQueen’s have been popular for quite a while now that they’ve become a McQueen classic.
The final pair of shoes is the Gucci Brixton Loafers. I think they’re a timeless pair of shoes with lots of variations, and one that can be dressed up or down, depending on whether you wear it with a formal outfit, or even jeans and a blazer. They’d look good in so many people’s wardrobes too!
ACCESSORIES
I love a good accessory and I think they’re a perfect way to elevate your outfit! There are a couple of items that I’ve always wanted, one of them being the Rolex DateJust Watch. This is the most expensive item on this entire wishlist, but one that I’ve always wanted. There’s nothing better than a good watch. I’ve always said to myself that I will buy one when, I can afford it, and when I’m on my way to being successful in my career as I envision – not that I have an end goal, as I’m a constant work in progress. Something else that I’ve always wanted is the Chanel CC Earrings. Again, I just think that they are iconic and stunning. A little secret about these is that I actually nearly purchased them earlier this year, but decided on something else instead!
There are a few Gucci accessories on my radar, which is odd for me as I’m typically not one for a lot of Gucci. The first being the infamous Gucci GG Belt. I think this belt would look lovely with a basic outfit, to add a nice touch of something (I don’t know what) but it would just take a simple outfit and make it a little less boring. Next up on the Gucci front is a black Gucci Scarf, now I actually already own a Gucci scarf and I get so much wear out of it as it’s become an absolute go-to but I think I’d potentially get even more wear out of a black one as my current one is a taupe/grey colour. The final accessory is a pair of Gucci Sunglasses. In all honesty, I don’t know whether these would suit me or not, but they look really fun and cool and I love an oversized pair of sunglasses!
