When it comes to makeup, I’m not so much of a blusher person, I’m definitely more of a contour and highlight kind of girl. Up until recently, I have really neglected blusher for various different reasons, however the main one being that many of them are too pigmented and therefore don’t look right on my dark skintone. On the odd occasion, there are days where I feel like contour and highlight aren’t cutting it and that I need a little bit of blusher to tie the look together, which is where the *Pixi Sheer Cheek Gel’s come into play.

These blushers are very light in consistency and have a sheer tint of pigment, which prevents them from being too overpowering and maintains a natural look. Although it may look like there’s not a lot of product, a little goes a long way and you need the smallest bit. I love the versatility in the application as you can apply it with a brush, and when I do apply it with a brush, I use a duo fiber brush, however my favourite way too apply this blusher is with my fingers as it just applies so nicely. Due to the fact that these are gel blushers, the longevity isn’t one of the best, but when it does start to wear off, it fades away nicely and not at all patchy.
In all honesty, I am a packaging fiend, as I’m a sucker for some good packaging, ranging all the way from the box to the packaging of the product itself. The packaging of these actual blushers doesn’t leave a lot to be desired and it’s a very ‘what you see if what you get’ sort of packaging. It consists of a pale green box, which is very typical of all Pixi products, and the actual product is housed in a squeezy tube, which makes it travel, and makeup bag friendly.
There are 3 shades available with an RRP of £14 each – natural, flushed and rosy. The shade natural is a lovely pale pink, which would be perfect for those with a fairer complexion. Flushed is a deep berry shade, which is the one that I tend to opt for, as it looks so nice on mid-darker skin tones. Rosy is more of a dark mid-tone pink which is a good all-rounder.
Overall, I do really like the concept of these blushers and I find that they work really well for natural or no makeup-makeup looks and although it may not look like there’s a lot of product, a little goes a long way and it’ll probably last you a good while!
