A couple years ago, I decided that I was going to start wearing an SPF on a daily basis. This was all well and good in theory, until it actually came to finding an SPF that was not only good and effective, but would also work for my skin tone. SPF generally has a blue/grey cast to it which for someone who rarely wears base makeup, isn’t something that I was okay with. I’m not dead yet, so I decided to do some research and find one that worked well on dark skin. I was shocked to discover that most of the SPF’s that were recommended weren’t readily available as they were mainly from the US. I then came across a mention of the LA Roche Posay Anthelios 50 and spoiler alert – what a game changer!
The LRP Anthelios 50 Invisible Fluid is self-professed to have a very high protection that is ultra-resistant, working against water, sweat and sand. As the name suggests, this SPF is completely and utterly clear when blended into the skin – no purple/grey cast in sight! Even when I plan on wearing a full face of makeup, this product doesn’t disrupt the application as it’s not greasy or sticky and is extremely lightweight, so it doesn’t feel like you’re adding another layer of product on your face.
When it comes to my skin, one of my areas of concern is my hyperpigmentation. This SPF not only provides protection from the sun and UVA/B rays, but also helps to prevent my hyperpigmentation from exacerbating, but also prevents any new areas forming. In doing so, using this SPF helps to keep my skin nice and clear from dark spots.
A couple other things to note from the brand, that I can’t personally comment on as I’m no cosmetologist! LRP states that this SPF has a very high UVA/UVB facial sun protection, with an altar resistant formula specifically developed for sensitive skin. Anthelios is anti-eye stinging and hypoallergenic. Though formulated without perfume, not only is this great for those with sensitive skin, but it’s also suitable for all skin types and phototypes.
With a RRP of £18, the LRP Anthelios Invisible Fluid is readily available from a number of retailers, from Boots, Escentual, Look Fantastic and FeelUnique etc. As mentioned before, this product has been an absolute game changer in my skincare routine and is one that I’ve recommended to friends of mine, who have also come to love this product too!
